SHERIDAN, WYOMING – April 29, 2025 – A new kind of getaway is landing in the Hamptons this summer, and it’s not your typical glitz-and-glam escape. Meet Three Ducks, a boutique hotel redefining what luxury looks—and feels—like in Westhampton Beach.
Set to open on the former site of the Westhampton Seabreeze Motel, this 12-room retreat is the first project from Three Ducks Hospitality, the brainchild of designer-developers Randall Stone and Elizabeth Bakhash. Nestled on 1.6 acres, the property promises more than just beautiful accommodations—it offers a soulful stay that honors the area's agrarian roots and artistic heritage.
A Fresh Take on the Hamptons Retreat
Stone and Bakhash met while working at a New York-based brand and experience agency, and their collaboration brings a deeply personal vision to life. “We instantly recognized the potential here and jumped at the chance to create something truly special for visitors and locals alike,” said Stone.
Rather than chase trends, Three Ducks leans into simplicity, serenity, and a deep connection to place. The hotel is designed around three thoughtfully curated spaces:
- The Barn: A welcoming reception area that doubles as a social hub, featuring bifold doors that open to lush gardens.
- The Gardens: Home to a seasonal market stocked with local goods and even a charming Dahlia farmstand.
- The Guest House: Where nature-inspired rooms invite rest, reflection, and reconnection.
Design Inspired by Nature, Built for Comfort
From the moment Bakhash stepped onto the property, she knew nature would be the guide. “The first time I visited the property… it looked like a beautiful meadow,” she recalled. “That moment became the foundation for embracing the natural world in everything we did.”
Inside, the rooms are anything but cookie-cutter. Vaulted ceilings and expansive windows bring the outdoors in, while interiors blend form with function. “We call the interiors ‘garden-fresh’—a design approach where each room feels like a natural extension of the surrounding landscape,” said Bakhash.
Guests can expect:
- Custom-built storage to keep things tidy and serene
- Ash wood floors and clay tile accents
- Window benches overlooking private gardens
- Soft, natural fabrics that invite you to unwind
A Community-Centered Experience
Beyond the aesthetics, the hotel is a tribute to the local lifestyle. Whether you're sipping morning coffee at The Barn, browsing artisanal goods at the market, or enjoying a glass of wine by the corten steel firepit, the experience is built around ease and connection.
“For us, luxury means more than just high-end finishes; it’s about creating an experience that feels rooted in the land and the community,” said Joseph Montag, hotelier from FIRM Hospitality, known for his work with Topping Rose House in Bridgehampton.
Year-Round Magic in the Hamptons
Unlike many Hamptons getaways, Three Ducks isn’t just a summer fling. It’s built for all seasons, with curated experiences that reflect the natural rhythms of Long Island’s East End. Guests can look forward to:
- Birdwatching in spring
- Flower arranging in the fall
- Local partnerships for beach days, golf outings, and art events
“We aim to inspire guests to embrace the joy of travel, which in many cases is your first introduction to the hobbies, food, and people you love,” Bakhash said.
A Place to Belong, Not Just Stay
Ultimately, Three Ducks is more than a hotel—it’s a story of connection, craftsmanship, and place. “We weren’t interested in a retro motel makeover,” Bakhash emphasized. “We envisioned Three Ducks as a true destination—a place to stay in Westhampton, not just pass through.”
Three Ducks is scheduled to open this summer in Westhampton Beach, New York. Whether you’re a Hamptons regular or a first-time visitor, this new retreat invites you to slow down, soak in the beauty, and feel right at home.
