Grundfos Renews EHF EURO Sponsorship Through 2030, Strengthening Sustainability in Sport

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – June 17, 2025 – In a major win for fans, communities, and the planet, Grundfos has announced the extension of its official partnership with the Men’s and Women’s EHF EURO handball tournaments through 2030 — continuing a powerful alliance that blends sporting excellence with global impact.

As a global leader in advanced water and climate solutions, Grundfos has long championed handball as more than a game. This renewed partnership ensures the company’s continued role in some of Europe’s most thrilling sporting moments, while also supporting essential clean water and sustainability efforts worldwide.

A commitment that goes beyond the court

Grundfos has been part of the EHF family for nearly two decades, using its presence at Europe’s biggest handball stages to raise awareness for water scarcity and climate action. The much-loved “Grundfos Player of the Match” initiative is one of the standout efforts — recognizing athletes’ performance while turning their victories into vital support for global communities.

Through this initiative, Grundfos has:

  • Delivered clean water to families in Malawi and Ethiopian refugee camps
  • Supported drought-stricken regions in the Horn of Africa
  • Created direct connections between athletic achievement and real-world change

Ulrik Gernow, Grundfos EVP and COO, shared, “At Grundfos, we believe partnerships should drive meaningful impact. Handball, a sport rooted in passion, unity and performance, mirrors the spirit we bring to everything we do. That’s why we’re proud to continue our collaboration with the EHF and Infront — not just to celebrate the game loved by millions, but to inspire action on global water and climate challenges. Through our Player of the Match initiative, we’ve helped bring clean water to families in Malawi and refugees in Ethiopia as well as delivered aid to drought-stricken communities in the Horn of Africa. These are more than donations — they’re proof that performance on the court can change lives off it. Together, we’re unlocking new possibilities — for the sport, for communities, and for a more sustainable future.”

Upcoming events across Europe

The extended sponsorship covers the next three EHF EURO cycles. Fans can look forward to thrilling action hosted in several iconic European locations:

  • 2026 Men’s EHF EURO: Denmark, Sweden, and Norway (January 15 – February 1)
  • 2026 Women’s EHF EURO: Poland, Romania, Czechia, Slovakia, and Türkiye (December 3–20)
  • 2028 Men’s EHF EURO: Portugal, Spain, and Switzerland

  • 2030 Men’s EHF EURO: Czechia, Poland, and Denmark
  • 2030 Women’s EHF EURO: Host countries to be announced

These multinational events will bring fans together across borders, emphasizing both sport and sustainability on the global stage.

A partnership rooted in purpose

Martin Hausleitner, EHF Secretary General, stated, “We are proud to see Grundfos prolonging its engagement and are looking forward to further raising awareness of sustainable actions through our partnership. Together with Grundfos, we have a chance to attract attention to the importance of sustainability, as we aim to become one of the most sustainable team sport federations, underlining the social, governmental, and environmental responsibility of European handball.”

This renewal is a clear statement of shared purpose between a committed brand and an ambitious federation. We’re proud to help shape a platform that champions both performance on the court and positive impact off it.”
