SHERIDAN, WYOMING – June 11, 2025 – BMW has just raised the bar in the world of compact performance cars with the thrilling debut of the 2026 M2 CS, delivering a heart-racing blend of speed, agility, and luxury that’s set to excite enthusiasts and everyday drivers alike.
Building on its Motorsport heritage, the new M2 CS brings increased horsepower, weight-saving design, and race-ready features into a street-legal package. It’s a bold step forward in performance, blending cutting-edge technology and emotional driving dynamics with everyday usability.
A Lightweight Powerhouse with Racing Roots
Under the hood, the M2 CS features a high-revving inline 6-cylinder engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology. This powertrain delivers an impressive 523 horsepower—50 more than the standard M2—and 479 lb-ft of torque across a broad rev range.
Paired with a standard 8-speed M Steptronic transmission and Drivelogic, this setup launches the car from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds, reaching a top speed of 188 mph with the standard M Driver’s Package.
BMW’s intelligent lightweight construction shaves nearly 100 pounds off the standard M2, thanks to the use of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) in components like the roof, trunk lid, and rear diffuser. Forged M alloy wheels also contribute to this weight savings, enhancing performance and handling.
Chassis and Braking Tuned for Precision and Confidence
The 2026 M2 CS features a CS-specific chassis setup for heightened responsiveness. Key upgrades include:
- Adaptive M Suspension with revised tuning
- Enhanced M Servotronic steering
- M Sport differential for sharper cornering
- High-performance M Compound brakes with red calipers (standard)
- Optional M Carbon ceramic brakes for $8,500
With these refinements, the M2 CS promises driving dynamics tailored not just for the road, but for track days and high-performance environments.
Distinctive Design Inside and Out
The M2 CS turns heads with its aggressive styling and Motorsport cues. Signature features include:
- CS-exclusive forged alloy wheels in matte Gold Bronze
- M Carbon roof and mirror caps
- Black M kidney grille and matte black front splitter
- Ducktail spoiler with bold “M2 CS” badging
Buyers can choose from four exterior colors, including Black Sapphire metallic, Brooklyn Grey metallic, and Portimao Blue metallic at no extra charge—or opt for BMW Individual Velvet Blue metallic for $3,000.
Inside, the cabin reflects a track-inspired aesthetic with heated M Carbon bucket seats in Black Merino leather, a red-centered Alcantara M steering wheel, and carbon fiber trim throughout. Ambient lighting with customizable colors and the illuminated “CS” logo add a futuristic touch.
Modern Tech with a Motorsport Twist
Drivers will enjoy a fully digital cockpit featuring the BMW Curved Display with M-specific graphics, BMW Operating System 8.5, and smartphone integration for Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. Highlights also include:
- BMW Live Cockpit Professional with Augmented View navigation
- Harman Kardon Surround Sound System
- Heated steering wheel and climate control functions operated by voice or touch
The Setup button on the center console provides direct access to customizable driving modes, while features like M Drift Analyzer and M Laptimer allow drivers to hone their skills and measure performance on the track.
