With a strong performance in Qatar, the team is aiming to solidify their position in the championship standings.

Gasly Eyes Another Top-Ten Finish

Pierre Gasly is coming off an impressive fifth-place finish in Qatar and is eager to carry that momentum into Abu Dhabi.

"It’s great to leave Qatar after an excellent race where we finished in fifth place and scored ten crucial points for the team," Gasly said. "We had good pace all weekend and were able to show this, making it into SQ3 and fighting in the top ten consistently in both the Sprint Race and the Grand Prix."

Gasly acknowledges the challenges the team has faced throughout the season but remains optimistic about their chances in Abu Dhabi.

Gasly defended his position with skill, holding off Carlos Sainz in the closing laps to secure a hard-fought fifth place. His fastest lap of 1 minute 23.705 seconds further demonstrated his impressive speed.

Gasly Secures Strong Starting Position for Sprint Race at Qatar Grand Prix

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – December 4, 2024 – SHERIDAN, WYOMING – Dec. 4, 2024 – Alpine driver Pierre Gasly put in a strong performance in Friday's Sprint Qualifying session at the Formula 1 Qatar Grand Prix, securing a promising eighth-place starting position for Saturday's Sprint race. Teammate Esteban Ocon faced a more challenging qualifying session, finishing in 18th place.

Ocon Faces Challenges in Qualifying

Esteban Ocon had a difficult time in both Free Practice 1 and Sprint Qualifying. He finished P20 in Free Practice with a time of 1 minute 24.280 seconds and P18 in Sprint Qualifying with a time of 1 minute 22.906 seconds.

Ocon acknowledged the team's struggles, saying, “It’s been a tough evening and we did not manage to put together a better lap to qualify higher on the grid for tomorrow’s Sprint race. We need to continue to work with the team to find more performance and understand a few things."
