ASUS ROG Marks 20 Years of Gaming Hardware Innovation at Computex 2026 in Taipei

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – May 14, 2026 – ASUS Republic of Gamers is preparing a major 20th anniversary celebration during Computex 2026 in Taipei, bringing together gaming fans, PC builders, media and longtime ROG users for a large-scale event focused on gaming hardware, community culture and future technology concepts. The anniversary event takes place June 1 at Syntrend Creative Park, a location closely tied to Taiwan’s PC-building scene and the early years of the ROG brand. Alongside anniversary products and technology showcases, ASUS is also using the event to highlight how gaming culture has evolved over the last two decades from niche enthusiast communities into a global mainstream industry.

ROG Returns to a Key Location From Its Early PC Gaming History

The anniversary event will be held at Syntrend Creative Park in Taipei’s Guanghua commercial district, an area strongly associated with Taiwan’s custom PC and gaming hardware market. ASUS says the venue was chosen because of its historical connection to the origins of Republic of Gamers, including the possibility that one of the earliest ROG motherboards was sold in the neighborhood nearly twenty years ago.

For longtime PC enthusiasts, the location carries real meaning. Guanghua has long been known as one of Taipei’s central technology districts, filled with computer component stores, gaming hardware retailers and system-building shops. Even as gaming hardware has shifted toward global online sales, areas like this still represent the culture that built enthusiast PC gaming in the first place.

The anniversary event runs from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. local time on June 1.

ASUS Plans Anniversary Gaming Products and Future Technology Demonstrations

During the event, ASUS Republic of Gamers will showcase anniversary-themed hardware and new gaming technologies connected to its “Dare to Innovate” message. The company says the presentation will look back at two decades of gaming product development while also introducing concepts focused on future gaming experiences.

ROG originally became known for high-performance gaming motherboards before expanding into gaming laptops, monitors, graphics cards, accessories and complete gaming ecosystems. That growth mirrors broader changes in the gaming market itself, where players increasingly expect connected devices, synchronized performance tools and unified software platforms across multiple products.

ASUS will also highlight something called ROG Lab, described as an ongoing exploration of future gaming technologies and experimental concepts. While the company has not detailed specific products yet, the initiative appears focused on testing new ideas around gaming experiences and emerging technology trends.

Gaming Community Events Remain Central to the ROG Brand

The event is not being positioned purely as a corporate product launch. ASUS is heavily emphasizing community participation, hands-on demonstrations and live experiences throughout the evening.

Legendary gaming actor Ned Luke will host the press event, while ASUS Chairman Jonney Shih is expected to open the presentation. After the official announcements and demo sessions, the evening transitions into a community celebration designed for fans, creators and gaming enthusiasts attending Computex.

That community angle matters because gaming hardware brands increasingly compete through identity and culture as much as raw technical specifications. Republic of Gamers has spent years building a recognizable gaming lifestyle image tied to PC customization, esports and enthusiast hardware performance.

For many longtime gamers, ROG products were part of their first custom-built systems during the growth of competitive online gaming in the late 2000s and early 2010s. ASUS is clearly leaning into that nostalgia during this anniversary campaign.

Computex 2026 Continues to Be a Major Global PC Hardware Showcase

Beyond the anniversary event itself, ASUS will also operate a larger ROG exhibition booth during Computex 2026 at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center from June 2 through June 5.

Computex remains one of the world’s largest PC and gaming hardware trade shows, regularly serving as a launch platform for gaming laptops, graphics hardware, AI-powered systems, monitors and next-generation PC components. For gaming brands, the event remains one of the most important opportunities to reach both media and enthusiast audiences at the same time.

The timing is also significant because gaming hardware manufacturers are increasingly integrating AI features, performance optimization tools and new cooling technologies into gaming systems. Industry competition around premium gaming hardware has become far more aggressive than it was twenty years ago when ROG first launched.
