Nissan's e-POWER Vehicle Production Surpasses 1.5 Million Milestone
SHERIDAN, WYOMING – November 3, 2024 – Nissan Motor Corporation proudly announced that the cumulative global production of its e-POWER vehicles surpassed 1.5 million units by the end of September.
e-POWER, a unique technology developed by Nissan, uses a small-capacity gasoline engine and lithium-ion battery to power an electric motor. This electric motor exclusively drives the wheels, creating an electric-vehicle driving experience characterized by powerful acceleration, responsiveness, and exceptional quietness.
Nissan first introduced e-POWER in Japan in 2016 with the Note e-POWER. The innovative powertrain has since expanded to include the Kicks and X-Trail sport-utility vehicles and the Serena minivan. In fiscal year 2023, e-POWER vehicles accounted for 42.6% of Nissan's sales in Japan.
