Kia America Celebrates Record-Breaking May with Eighth Month of Sales Growth

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – June 16, 2025 – Kia America continues its winning streak, posting its eighth consecutive month of year-over-year sales growth in May with 79,007 units sold—marking a 5% increase compared to the same time last year.

As customer interest climbs, Kia’s versatile lineup is proving its appeal with standout performances from the Telluride, Sportage, Carnival, and the stylish new K4. These models all achieved their highest-ever May sales, reinforcing the brand’s rising popularity among American drivers.

Strong Demand for SUVs and Family-Focused Models

The Carnival MPV led the way with a remarkable 68% jump in sales compared to May 2024, thanks in part to the introduction of its hybrid version. SUV favorites also surged—Telluride rose 12%, and the compact Sportage grew by 10%. The K4 sedan, known for its modern design and driving dynamics, recorded a 4% increase.

“As the second half of the year approaches, Kia's market competitiveness continues to strengthen with eight consecutive months of sales growth. Kia’s diverse powertrain lineup, including ICE, hybrids, and EVs, coupled with the strong and sustained customer interest in the brand’s Telluride, Sportage, Carnival MPV, and K4 models have been some of the key drivers of the company’s continued sales growth,” said Eric Watson, vice president, sales operations, Kia America.

New Electric Models Arrive with Bold Design

Electric vehicle fans now have more to get excited about with the arrival of the 2026 EV9 Nightfall Edition and EV9 GT-Line, both featuring a distinctive two-tone roof and performance enhancements.

“And we anticipate this growth trajectory will continue with the 2026 EV9 Nightfall Edition and EV9 GT-Line with two-tone roof now available in showrooms nationwide. With new design elements – including a new two-tone roof, as well as enhancements in driving range and performance – the upgraded EV9 Nightfall Edition and the EV9 GT-Line with two-tone roof are set to better meet the expectations of customers looking for a three-row, all-electric SUV,” added Watson.

Supporting Communities Nationwide

Through its “Accelerate the Good” Dealer Match program, Kia and its national retailer network raised $4.6 million for nonprofit causes in 2024. Among the highlights:

  • Over $1.5 million donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®
  • More than $1.5 million contributed to No Kid Hungry®

Now in its fourth year, the initiative continues to make a meaningful difference across the United States.
