SHERIDAN, WYOMING – April 16, 2025 – Kia is charging into the future with the official U.S. debut of the all-electric 2026 Kia EV4 sedan at the New York International Auto Show. As Kia’s first all-electric global sedan, the EV4 blends forward-thinking design, long-range capability, and smart technology—all in a compact, consumer-friendly package built for modern lifestyles.
This sleek, versatile sedan is engineered to bring the electric experience to more drivers, thanks to a balance of affordability, performance, and cutting-edge connectivity. It’s the latest milestone in Kia’s mission to make electric vehicles more accessible to a broader audience across the U.S.
A Game-Changer in Design and Function
Fresh sedan design meets bold electric identity
Taking a fresh approach to the traditional sedan, the EV4 introduces a new typology that combines sleek aesthetics with everyday practicality. Inspired by Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy, the EV4 embodies contrasts drawn from nature and humanity. It features a low nose, fastback roofline, and long-tail silhouette, creating a sporty and aerodynamic look.
The signature Star Map lighting and vertical headlamps give the EV4 a distinctive face, while the new interpretation of Kia’s iconic Tiger Face design adds a bold, tech-forward personality. At the rear, vertical taillights, a sleek bumper, and a two-piece roof spoiler amplify the car’s planted stance and visual width.
Inside, a clean and open layout offers intuitive simplicity for drivers transitioning from gas to electric. A floating interface, two-spoke steering wheel, and high-quality materials deliver both comfort and a modern cabin experience. Customers can also enjoy customizable 64-color dynamic ambient lighting for a personalized vibe.
Power, Range, and Real-World Practicality
Efficiency meets performance in two battery options
Under the hood—or more accurately, under the floor—the EV4 rides on Kia’s 400V Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), offering two battery choices. The Light trim features a 58.3 kWh battery with a Kia-estimated 235 miles of all-electric range, while the Wind and GT-Line trims come with an 81.4 kWh long-range battery offering up to 330 miles of AER¹.
Fast-charging is quick and convenient: recharge from 10 to 80 percent in just 29 minutes (Light) or 31 minutes (Wind and GT-Line) using a built-in North American Charging Standard (NACS) port². Aerodynamic design touches, such as a full underbody cover, help the EV4 achieve a drag coefficient as low as 0.23 Cd.
“The EV4 makes all-electric ownership accessible for those customers who are seeking a more practical and affordable option on the EV landscape while still desiring an advanced, technology-driven in-car experience,” said Steven Center, COO & EVP, Kia America. “The arrival of the EV4 underscores Kia’s overall efforts to enhance the appeal of electric mobility to a wider audience -- an audience that’s been witnessing the excitement around EVs for quite some time and are now ready to experience the outstanding benefits for themselves.”
The EV4's handling is elevated by an EV-tuned MacPherson strut front suspension and multi-link rear geometry. Kia’s innovative i-Pedal 3.0 system³ also lets drivers decelerate and even stop using just the accelerator pedal—now with memory and reverse functionality for added convenience.
Connected for the Next Generation
Advanced tech and comfort features for daily life
The EV4 enhances everyday usability with available Digital Key 2.05, allowing drivers to unlock and start the vehicle via smartphone. Inside, the nearly 30-inch wide display6—featuring dual 12.3-inch screens and a dedicated 5-inch climate display—anchors Kia’s new connected car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC). This interface supports over-the-air (OTA) updates, display theme customization (even NBA team themes), wireless Apple CarPlay10, and Android Auto11.
Tech-savvy consumers will appreciate the integration of Kia’s AI Assistant12, which improves voice recognition and delivers more human-like interactions. Comfort is also prioritized, with features like heated/ventilated front seats13, a heated steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, and rear A/C vents all designed to elevate the cabin experience.
Need to power up devices on the go? The EV4’s Vehicle-to-Load (V2L)4 functionality turns the car into a mobile power hub—ideal for charging laptops, lighting, and other small electronics.
Safety Comes Standard
Smart safety with ADAS technology
Kia has equipped the EV4 with a robust suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including standard Highway Driving Assist (HDA)8 for semi-autonomous driving on highways. Additional features such as Forward Collision Avoidance Assist15, Lane Following Assist16, and Intelligent Speed Limit Assist17 enhance confidence behind the wheel.
Standard Hands-On Detection (HOD) also monitors driver contact with the steering wheel, helping ensure that safety systems remain engaged and responsive.
