2026 KIA K4 Hatchback Brings Sporty Style and Smart Tech to the Streets

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – April 16, 2025 - A New Era of Versatility and Performance Unveiled at the New York International Auto Show

Kia is shaking things up once again—this time with the highly anticipated debut of the 2026 K4 Hatchback. Unveiled at the 2025 New York International Auto Show, the new model builds on the buzz generated by last year’s hatchback teaser and brings a fresh blend of performance, technology, and flexibility to the Kia lineup. Poised as the dynamic sibling to the K4 sedan, the 2026 K4 Hatchback is tailored for consumers looking for both excitement and everyday practicality.

After the overwhelmingly positive response to last year’s hatchback teaser in New York, we knew we had struck a chord with car enthusiasts and consumers alike,” said Steven Center, COO & EVP, Kia America. “Built on the success of the K4 sedan, this hatchback isn’t just about style – it’s about attitude. With available turbo power, a sport-tuned suspension, a more compact footprint, and exceptional versatility, the K4 Hatchback is designed for those who crave excitement at every turn.

Bold Looks Meet Everyday Practicality

The K4 Hatchback turns heads with a bold floating roof design that flows seamlessly into a wide-opening rear hatch. Shorter than the sedan by up to 11 inches, it brings improved agility for city driving while preserving the sedan’s spaciousness. Rear passengers will enjoy class-leading legroom and an extra inch of headroom, setting a new standard in the hatchback category. With 22.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats—and up to 59.3 cubic feet when folded flat—the K4 Hatchback is built for busy lifestyles, spontaneous adventures, and everything in between.

This stylish model also carries over signature design cues from the K4 sedan, including vertical LED headlights and taillights inspired by the EV9. Hidden rear door handles and the exclusive Sparkling Yellow exterior add to the hatchback’s unique character.

Sporty Inside and Out

For those wanting an extra punch of performance and flair, the GT-Line and GT-Line Turbo trims deliver. Highlights include a sport-tuned suspension, paddle shifters, a three-spoke steering wheel, 18-inch alloy wheels, gloss black accents, and small cube LED headlights. A standard power sunroof and enhanced braking system elevate the GT-Line Turbo even further.

Under the hood, drivers can choose between a standard 2.0-liter engine delivering 147 horsepower or an available 1.6-liter turbocharged engine producing 190 horsepower and 195 lb.-ft. of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

High-Tech Comfort and Connectivity

Inside, the K4 Hatchback boasts a modern cockpit anchored by a nearly 30-inch digital display, blending a digital gauge cluster with a central infotainment screen. The intuitive interface supports Kia’s advanced Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) and includes standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A wireless phone charger keeps devices powered on the go, while premium features like heated and ventilated front seats and a Harman Kardon audio system enhance the in-car experience.

Digital Key 2.0 allows compatible smartphones to function as virtual keys using Ultra-wideband technology. Drivers can also enjoy voice-activated control through Kia’s built-in generative AI assistant. Simply say, “Hey Kia,” to adjust settings, get directions, play games, or even explore features from the vehicle’s manual.

Advanced Driver Assistance for Peace of Mind

The K4 Hatchback includes 16 standard Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) features, with up to 29 available. Standout safety technologies include Lane Keeping Assist, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Blind-Spot Collision Warning, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

Optional on higher trims are Evasive Steering Assist, Highway Driving Assist 2, and a suite of enhanced monitoring tools such as Blind-Spot View Monitor and a 360° Surround View Monitor. These features are designed to provide confidence, convenience, and added safety for every journey.

Coming Soon to U.S. Roads

Expected to hit U.S. showrooms in late 2025, the 2026 Kia K4 Hatchback will be available in standard and GT-Line trims. Pricing, fuel economy ratings, and full feature availability will be announced closer to its release.
